Lamb Pool Consignment Procedure

 


Have Lambs Preconsigned by Thursday at 4:00 PM Market lambs, feeder lambs, slaughter sheep, and goats can be consigned for any of the dates listed.

Three Step Consignment Procedure

  1. Call Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association at 1-800-362-3989.
  2. Consign your lambs during the week prior to the pool date, no later than Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Consignments are taken on first-come, first-serve basis until the load(s) are full. (Lambs are sold in load units of 400 head or 48,000 pounds.)
  3. To insure maximum value, please describe your lambs accurately. You will be asked several important questions:
    1. Which pool date and location?
    2. What is the owner's name, address, and phone number?
    3. How many head?
    4. What is the average weight?
    5. Are the lambs shorn? How long ago?
    6. Number of rams?
    7. Other information--breed, colored, amount of finish?

Please deliver your lambs between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on the pool date. Please note: The grader will be at Altoona between noon and 1:30 p.m.
